How do Investment Bankers Make Money?
Glad you asked...
A investment banker will make commissions by assisting companies and governments in buying and selling assets, The higher the price of the deal the higher the commission. an example would be an Investment banker brokering a deal to sell a company for 1 million dollars at 5% commission the banker just made $50,000. The commission percent may drop with the Price increase but think of a banker who is brokering a deal or merger for $50 billion even if he only receives a 0.1% commission he has still come out making $50 million.
