The most effective way to stop your period is to go on birth control pills which are formulated to do so. While your are on birth control pills, you will usually not have a period. However, you will have to speak with your doctor to see which pill is best for you. Breast feeding also temporarily stops your period and of course preganancy and menapause stops your period as well.
