Why Did Alan Titchmarsh Leave Ground Force?

Alan Titchmarsh was associated with the BBC gardening program Ground Force from its beginning in 1997 until he left in 2001. He is a well-published author on gardening, documentarian and radio host. He left the program to pursue these other interests.
