Who Invented the First Faucet?
Glad you asked...
The invention of the first faucet started in the ancient times with the Egyptians and Greeks in 1400 BC, where they used valves to redirect water for consumption and irrigation. This continued to Pompeii in the 4th century AD where Rome had public faucets for baths and fountains, and the wealthier had private flows for baths. Leonardo Da Vinci invented water projects and canals that used valves in the 1500's, and then Al Moen invented the single flow faucet in 1937 after scalding his hands by running them under hot water.
