How does the Sperm Cell Penetrate the Egg?

The sperm cell can penetrate a woman's egg by swimming into it. Some sperm have a certain shape that make them easy to penetrate an egg while others can have more difficulty doing so. Sperm can also break down the cell membrane and penetrate the egg that way.
