Why Aren't There Any B Batteries?

Even though there aren't any B batteries now, there used to be. A batteries and B batteries were some of the original batteries made; they were large and associated with high voltage. When the single-cell batteries were developed, the manufacturers didn't use the single letters A and B so that people wouldn't think these single-cell batteries were high voltage.
